R&M converts Liaison Office into Indian Subsidiary

This reiterates R&M’s focus and aggressive approach in the Indian market

BANGALORE, India – April 6, 2010 – Swiss cabling specialist Reichle & De-Massari (R&M) has announced the conversion of its India Liaison office to Indian subsidiary. This reiterates R&M’s focus and aggressive approach in the Indian market. For R&M, India is one of the fastest growing markets in the region.

From a modest start of its India operations in 2006, R&M stormed its way into the top five cabling companies by the end of 2009 due to its technological superiority. R&M has also invested in a demo and training centre in Bangalore for the partners and end users.

Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Ahluwalia, Managing Director, R&M India said, “R&M India Pvt Ltd is another step towards delivering value to our customers. This change brings with it the opportunity for us to further cater to our customers increased demands. It also gives us the flexibility to expand our operations and create inroads into new verticals, markets and regions in India.”

This new status of Indian subsidiary is another milestone for R&M’s expansion in the Indian market. With this, we are expecting a double digits growth this year. The Indian subsidiary will help us in capitalizing on the success we have already achieved in the Indian market. India is a key market for R&M (Asia-Pacific) and we view it as powerful driver of growth in the Asia-Pacific market,” informed Laurent Amestoy, President, APAC, R&M.

R&M has pioneered some of the latest technological innovations. It has recently launched LC Duplex compact fiber-optic connector system in the Indian market and the new fiber optic cable guidance product called the R&M Raceway System. Last year also saw R&M launch Cat. 6A module (ISO/IEC).

With the scaling up of operation and addition of dedicated specialists for industry verticals like IT/ITES, BFSI, healthcare, manufacturing, and automotive, the company has registered an increase of 18 percent in its turnover. Besides this, R&M‘s manpower has gone up by 25 percent. Today, R&M works with 90 partners and three distributors, and is aiming for number three slot by end-2010.
