Corsair unveils India Roadmap 2010

DRAM, PSU and CPU cooler products will be tailored to the Indian market, further expansion of Corsair’s service centre network to match the growth trajectory

HYDERABAD / BANGALORE, India – February 10, 2010 – Corsair® has been a leader in the design and manufacture of high-speed modules since 1994. Corsair’s focus has always been on supporting the special demands of mission-critical servers and high-end workstations, as well as the performance demands of extreme gamers. While maintaining this core focus, in recent years, Corsair also brought its expertise, technology leadership and legendary quality and reliability to memory and other technology products for the more mainstream consumer. Corsair Memory has developed an industry-wide reputation for quality, compatibility and performance.

Unveiling the India Roadmap 2010, M A Mannan, Country Manager-India, Corsair Memory commented, “Corsair is looking forward to an exciting 2010 in India. Indian customers will see the launch of new DRAM, PSU and CPU cooler products tailored to the Indian market and further expansion of Corsair’s service centre network. Corsair India enjoyed 30% growth in 2009 despite the tough economic environment and we expect to exceed this growth in 2010 as our expanded customer base grows and Indian consumers come to value the world class Corsair brand.”

Year 2010 is crucial for IT industry. The last market-slump has helped the customers to understand which brands and companies are working with long term objectives. When others cut down, we expanded our service network. We have put fruitful efforts in cleansing the channel of the practice of selling below cost and affecting the profitability of the rest of the channel community. We increased the Corsair footprint in many cities, improved our nationwide RMA service, conducted roadshows for brand awareness, and were successful in establishing availability of Corsair products across major B & C cities. We are glad our strategies of innovative product introduction, marketing, service support were effective; none of Corsair partners were pushed to carry excess stocks and lose money. We were successful in ensuring that a proper MOP is maintained in the market for the larger benefit of the channel partners. Since Q4 2009 the market demand has started growing as anticipated and thus we chose Q1 2010 to announce our India Roadmap 2010”, added Mannan.

Corsair products are available in all Indian cities. Corsair gaming heatsink memory was a major success as the educational tours aimed at dealers were positively taken. Corsair dealer channel were enthusiastic about converting from low (or no) margin mainstream DRAM modules to heat sink modules as the quality and margins available on these DRAM modules meant a win-win for the whole channel.

Commenting on Corsair’s commitment to the market, Sudhir S, Managing Director of Inspan Infotech, one of the major distributors of Corsair in India, said, “We feel happy for our association with Corsair. Corsair has shown impressive growth in terms of both business and service. Initiatives like introduction of 24-hours replacement program has helped in transferring confidence through the channels till end customers. Business initiatives like timely response for the market feedback in terms of supportive pricing, stocks, introduction of newer products and models to address the demand have paid off well”.

Corsair Directions and New Launches
2010 will be the year that DDR3 sales volumes will overtake DDR2 in India as Intel mainstream Corei5 platform becomes widely available at competitive prices. Corsair has led the world in the adoption of DDR3.

As usual Corsair would be the first to bring out the new technologies in the memory module industry as it did in being the first to launch 24GB module kit, 2333MHz DDR3 module and working on introducing greater speeds of the modules.

This year, Corsair would be adding more range to its power supply series in low-end wattages, launch the lower-price version of cabinet (Obsidian series). Anything Corsair brings to the market will be top-of-the-line quality with an innovative approach. There are many such products in line for launch aiming at speed, performance and reliability especially for the overclockers.

In Q2 2010, Corsair will be launching Asia specific Power Supplies (PSU) with lower wattages as well as gaming PSUs aimed at the entry level gamers.

Summarizing the Roadmap 2010 for India, Shane Dennison, Sales Manager (Asia), Corsair Memory said, “The combination of Corsair’s sub-5 day nationwide RMA service and DRAM and PSU SKUs tailored to the India market has our sales channel excited about 2010. We are looking to capitalize on the DDR3 leadership position we currently enjoy in India through distributors Tirupati and Inspan.”

Corsair plans to reach every B & C cities in 2010. Corsair has extensive plans to carry out Gaming Memory educational programs in all these cities. Adding dedicated Corsair partners across all cities would be one of the top agenda this year. With the launch of low-end PSUs we plan to ensure reach in every city with our quality-price PSU product.
